Public Holiday :)

Long time no speak :)

Today I am basking in the pleasure of the Brisbane public holiday although I have spent most of it doing homework, thats right, I have done two hours of homework and have at least another one and a half to go ! Oh the joy :( We booked Sampson in for a bath today and he looks sooooo different, he loved it though and got a juicy pigs ear for being such a good boy :)

There are some highs to this holiday though because as we are speaking I am making on of these. I found the lovely tutorial on Pinterest and I have been meaning to do it ever since, finally I have got the time! I hope to have some photos of my creation up soon so that I can share with everyone else my creation.

I am thinking of joining in this swap but I am having second thoughts on it because it is based in Europe and I am unsure how costly it will be to send my parcels, I would love to find someone in Australia to do it with me ! If you are interested, feel free to comment on here and then head over to the link and leave a comment there.

Sorry about my absence lately, my toe was worse than I thought and I spent most of my time on the couch searching Pinterest hence the reason I found the tutorial for the bracelets :)

I'm Grateful for Day Time Television...

This week after having half of my toenail removed and needing to spend two days with my feet up on the air, on the couch I am grateful for daytime television. Ellen, Oprah, Whoopi and Dr Phil are all becoming the usual for me, I'm amazed by Ellen's dancing ability, Oprah's sincerity, Whoopi's humour and Dr Phil's understanding.

As well as watching these shows I have also been searching through pinterest and I have found many wonderful things. I am hoping to make some friendship bracelets this afternoon that I found a tutorial  for. Photos to come I hope!

I'm Grateful For Creativity...

This week, as I constantly get caught up in the world of Pinterest, I am grateful for creativity. WIthout this wonderful trait there would be nothing interesting to look at in the world and, lets face it, none of us would be here blogging today.

My favourite pin of the week was this one that I found and I am definitely putting it into practice next weekend. All you do is attach the crayons to the top of the canvas and then use the hair dryer to melt them down the canvas, Genius!

I'm off to do some more pinning :)

Revealing.

I have been a little down in the dumps lately but after reading this post it gave me the motivation to fancy up my blog and really get set on my way through blogland! With a google search underway ideas were running through my head until I found this lovely site and made my way through their header designs to find this...

and turn it into this.

I also found some cute little buttons and my new background, my favourite thing about thing about the site, Shabby Blogs, is that they cater for my love of birds, I am in awe! All my favourites can be found here.

Whilst on my search I also joined many groups, some of which I have added their buttons to my side bar. Be sure to check these out although I plan to publish a post about all of these too.

Next week I may be a tad absent for a while as I am having a minor operation late into the week. Nothing major, although for me two needles on either side of my toe and the removal of half my nail is a bit daunting! Hopefully I will be able to catch up on some crafts though because there are many birthdays coming up, including Sampson's, he is turning 1!

Well I best be off because I plan to have my room, the side verandah and the sewing area prepared for some serious usage in the next week!

I'm grateful for Companionship...

As things have not gone to completely to plan this week with early mornings, assignments coming out of my ears, no time to do sewing and not everyone in the house being happy I am grateful for COMPANIONSHIP.

It was early December last year when I was blessed with surprise of a lovely moodle (maltese x poodle) puppy of which my mother named Sampson. I was never a dog person until the day I met my Sampson boy and ever since then he has been my rock. Things not always go right around here and whenever I need a shoulder to cry on he is looking up at me with his big brown eyes just waiting for me to tell my problems to him while I cherish the ability to do this without being put down because of what I am saying or doing. His companionship is amazing and it is with a bond like ours that I know he will always be there for me, willing to do anything and protect me from anyone.

So this week, as I join in with Maxabella, I am thankful to have Sampson and his companionship helping me on my journey through life and allowing me to always have someone there looking out for me..

Work In Progress - Fabric Bin Cover

Today as I was gazing (yes gazing!) through my drawer of "to do" projects and I found one that is desperately in need of completion at the moment. I began tise bin cover, of which I can't find the source of my pattern for, in January *gasp* and today came to the conclusion that it MUST BE FINISHED by the end of the week.

I chose a pink spotted fabric as well as a wonderful bird pattern that I found at the wonderful fabric store "The Rainbow Patch".

The pattern is very simple, all you need to do is measure your bin to adjust the fabric to its specific height and you are done (pretty much!)

I got as far as sewing the four panels together now all I have to do is sew the base and inner panels on!

The countdown is on and hopefully by the end of the week there will be a wonderful post about my finished bin cover!
Hope your weekend was as joyous as mine.

My Creative Space

Yes folks, it is finally here! My very first creative space. Today I have been busy finishing projects that I have crafted for my cousins birthdays.

A simple covered pillow, "I Heart You" doll from Wee Wonderfuls and a cute "Hector the Giraffe" of which I photocopied the pattern for. All of my fabrics I found at Spotlight (never thought I would ever say that!).

Please excuse the poor quality of the photos as my camera is well and truly due for retirement! Well I certainly feel I have accomplished something with my very first creative space, next time I can hopefully be a bit more thorough although I look forward to many in the future!

Yoga Night!

Tonight I enjoyed a lovely session of Yoga with the lovely Maria Steiner at the Ipswich PCYC. It was definitely great to stretch down from my game of basketball last night!

I thought that I would upload some photos of my recent creations that I have up for sale. Although I do have an Etsy store I think I will just stick with advertising them on here for ease! If you are interested in any of these products just leave a comment with your email and I will contact you as soon as possible.

Dice Canvas' - $15.
I had planned to glue these together to make a canvas dice but that did not go to plan, they would be perfect to hang on a wall as a cute little nic nac.

Apple Tree - $15. This is one of my fabric covered canvas' and on the top of the fabric I have glued a cotton aplique. This is a very cute canvas and is perfect for any little girls room.

Fly Away - $10. This is another one of my fabric covered canvas' that I have added a cardboard applique onto. Once again this would be perfect for a little girls room or even under a patio for in a garden!

Please do not hesitate to comment so that I know I am not just talking to myself out here in cyberspace!

Welcome to Blogger!

Yes folks this is my introduction to blogger and I am going to strive to do my hardest with regular posts! At the moment I am working on a fabric covered canvas for a friends child's room and also a giraffe for my cousins birthday. I am hoping that I will be able to do a tutorial of the giraffe as it is simplistic but cute and effective, this should be up for you on Saturday (I hope!!).

During many of my posts you will find that I use bird inspired fabric because I am simply in love with birds! I am in the middle of doing a reno on my room with birds as the themes and so far I have made a bin cover that I also plan to do a tutorial on!

So many tutorials I am hoping to do! Hopefully I will be able to fit all of my favorites in !
